The Health Federation of Philadelphia, in partnership with HealthShare Exchange (HSX), held an event recently on the campus of Temple University for community-based and other social service organizations to learn more about how to utilize Connect4health.org.
The Health Federation of Philadelphia (HFP) hosted its annual Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) in-person meeting on Thursday, June 6 and Friday, June 7 at Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Representatives from health centers around Pennsylvania gathered for an opportunity to learn, network, and collaborate with others across the HCCN and around the state.

Officials from Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska’s office, as well as the Health Ministry of Ukraine and directors of Ukrainian regional health authorities visited Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. recently as part of Public Health System Recovery and Resilience in Ukraine, a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

On September 11th, the Health Federation of Philadelphia’s (HFP) Marcy Witherspoon walked into Project HOME’s Stephen Klein Wellness Center optimistic that she was going to play a part in changing lives – she just wasn’t sure how many. Witherspoon, a senior training specialist with HFP, was charged with the task of organizing and facilitating the Health Federation’s pilot group of the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP), an evidence-based program that is intended to prevent the development of Type 2 Diabetes, or delay the onset. “It’s not a weight loss program – it’s a lifestyle change program,” Witherspoon stated. “It’s about healthy eating and positive choices. We don’t use the word diet and we don’t use the word exercise.”
